By now, it’s pretty clear that the folks at Taco Bell know the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. After all, it’s been one whole year since Taco Bell first started marrying couples at their flagship Las Vegas Cantina restaurant, and the swag they’ve created to mark the special anniversary is en fuego!
According to Taco Bell, over 60 couples have vowed to love and cherish each other in the chapel of the Las Vegas location over the last year, proving that our national love of crunchy tacos and 7-layer burritos is really something else. The restaurant’s wedding package provides couples with a ceremony to remember, where guests of up to 15 can witness them exchanging vows before chowing down on a 12-pack of tacos and a Cinnabon wedding cake.
And now, burrito-loving couples everywhere can also enjoy some new taco-themed swag to celebrate their nuptials, with the launch of Taco Bell’s all-new wedding collection.
“The idea of enabling some of our most fervent and creative fans to express their love (for each other and tacos) with a Taco Bell wedding was certainly our idea of matrimonial bliss,” said Marisa Thalberg, Chief Brand Officer of Taco Bell. “However, the desire we have witnessed this year for Taco Bell weddings has exceeded all our expectations. In just one year, we have had over 60 couples, averaging more than one per week, tie the knot with us at our Las Vegas Cantina. And as we round this anniversary, we are excited to make future ceremonies even bigger and better than before.”
Inspired by the many couples across the nation who have proposed with “Marry Me” sauce packets, Taco Bell announced on July 2 that they’ve now begun selling “Mr.” and “Mrs.” T-shirts, garters and bow-ties designed with their trademark sauce packets, and champagne flutes that read, “Just Married.”
Taco Bell isn’t exactly new to selling burrito-inspired merch — on the brand’s online shop, you can purchase everything from water bottles covered in sauce packets to T-shirts that pay homage to the brand’s beloved beverages.
And they’re not the only fast food chain getting in on the action, either. Dominoes launched a baby registry last year that’s pretty adorable (and will have you craving pizza like you wouldn’t believe).
So if you and your beloved have dreamt of riding off into sunset together — but stopping off at the drive-thru for some chicken soft tacos on the way — then you might want to head over to TacoBell.com and check out their new line of swag. I mean, who wouldn’t want to marry a guy standing at the altar in a bow tie covered in sauce packets? (No one, that’s who!)
