Imagine you could tell a complete stranger your innermost secret and you wouldn’t be judged. You know that one thing that has been bothering you? You can finally offload it. Imagine a place where you can share, be heard, and yet remain completely invisible. Too good to be true? Nope!
This is the beauty of the wonderful website PostSecret. It is a mail art project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. Selected secrets are then posted on the PostSecret website, or used for PostSecret’s books or museum exhibits. Some are hilarious; others haunting. They range from the mundane — people admitting they eat on the john or pick their nose — to utterly heartbreaking, where they reveal that they can’t cope with their lives or that they were abused as children. The idea is that in revealing the secret, the person is empowered.
Often the postcards are incredibly detailed visually — with people using all kinds of drawings and papers to illustrate how they feel. One extremely powerful postcard I remember consisted of a photocopy of a death certificate of a suicide with the words “Dad I forgive you.”
The site is updated every Sunday with 10 new secrets. Warren himself includes a secret of his own in each of his books, but unlike other entries, he signs his.
I can honestly say no site has ever touched me like this one. It makes me realize that we are all human — all have failings and desires and needs and stories that shape us.
If you have never checked it out, please do. And why not create your own postcard?
Meanwhile, here are 8 of the best-kept celebrity secrets in Hollywood…

Gwyneth Paltrow says marrying Chris Martin was the best decision she ever made. The actress married her rock star husband in secret on December 5, 2003, with no friends or family present, in Santa Barbara, California. They had only just announced that Paltrow was pregnant two days prior to their nuptials. They kept their wedding a secret for several weeks — a lifetime by Hollywood standards!
Sandra Bullock adopting her son 3 of 9
In 2010 Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress Oscar for playing a mother who ends up adopting a black son in The Blind Side. However, she never mentioned anything about life imitating art and the fact that she had adopted a baby boy that January! She and her then-husband Jesse James had started the adoption process back in 2006. Just as she announced the adoption of Louis, she announced she was filing for divorce from James, allegedly because of his repeated infidelity.
Kristen Stewart dating Robert Pattinson 4 of 9
R. Patz first met K. Stew when he auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen in the first Twilight film. According to director Catherine Hardwicke, the pair had instant chemistry. All through 2008 and 2009, speculation was rife that the two leads were in fact dating. But it wasn't until February 2010 at the UK BAFTA awards in London that Rob finally admitted that they were together. Their on again-off again relationship kept folks guessing right through until this year, when they finally broke up.
January Jones’ baby daddy 5 of 9
Mad Men star January Jones gave birth to a son, Xander Dane Jones, on September 13, 2011. Speculation was rife over who the baby daddy was, but January has always remained tight-lipped. She says it is not something the public needs to know. All kudos to her for maintaining her private life and ensuring this privacy for her son. Long may her secret continue!
Blake Lively marrying Ryan Reynolds 6 of 9
No one even knew that Blake and Ryan were engaged! The star of Gossip Girl and her hubby-to-be kept everyone in the dark about their nuptials, getting hitched in Charleston, South Carolina in September 2012. The romantic setting for their wedding was none other than the house featured in the film The Notebook — Boone Hall Plantation. Despite their A-List status and Florence Welch performing a solo at the wedding, no one knew a thing about it until it had already happened.
Angelina Jolie’s double mastectomy 7 of 9
Angelina shocked the world when earlier this year she admitted having had both of her breasts removed. In a article in the New York Times she wrote that she had an 87 percent chance of breast cancer after discovering she had the BRCA1 gene. The mother-of-six managed to undergo three months of procedures without any of the world's press knowing, until she decided to make it public. It was a brave step to announce this to the world but Angelina wanted to raise awareness, and in doing so, was hailed a hero by us all.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z managed to date secretly for 6 years — 6 YEARS people!! — before secretly tying the knot on April 4, 2008 in New York in front of only 40 guests. Four days later at Jay-Z's gig in Atlanta, Beyonce sported a huge rock on her finger but refused to confirm reports that she had wed. It wasn't until her Grammy win in 2010 that B. finally thanked her husband, letting the cat out of the bag. We kinda knew, but also, what a well-kept secret relationship/marriage!

While Cruise was filming Oblivion in Iceland, she filed for divorce — a move Cruise later admitted he hadn't expected at all. How did Katie manage to keep her plans under wraps? Only she knows...
