Woman Asks David Harbour of ‘Stranger Things’ to Officiate Her Wedding — and He Says Yes

Back in the day, it would’ve been virtually impossible for fans to rub elbows with Hollywood superstars just by sending fan mail. But these days, thanks to social media, stars are more accessible than ever — and one actor from the hit Netflix show, Stranger Things, is proving that all it takes to reach for the stars is a Twitter account and a dream.

This past Thursday, Twitter user @ErickaElizabth tweeted a very special request to David Harbour who plays Chief of Police Jim Hopper on the wildly popular sci-fi series.

It read:

“What would it take to get @DavidKHarbour to be the Officiant at my wedding in September?!”

To which Harbour replied:

125k retweets. Provided date works with s3 shooting schedule, I will get ordained and perform ceremony. I get to read an esteemed love letter of my choosing, and after the cake is officially cut, I get the very first piece. #allthecakes

You always hear about actors and their demands, but GEE WHIZ, the first slice of wedding cake? I guess it’s a small price to pay for one of your favorite stars to marry you and the love of your life. Ericka’s tweet is currently up to 80k retweets and counting. Here’s hoping she gets her dream wedding officiant.

Bittersweet season 2 spoiler. Joyce has been recast for season2. 😏😜

Surprisingly, Ericka isn’t the first lucky fan whose dream caught the eye of the very gracious actor. On October 29th, 2017, Damaris Fregoso, a senior at Orestimba High School in California, received some VIP treatment from Harbour when she tweeted to ask how many RTs it would take for him to sit in on her upcoming senior portraits. And when she received Harbour’s suggested 25K retweets, the popular sci-fi actor made good on his promise, as he sat in on Fregoso’s photo shoot last week. School sweatshirt on and trombone in hand!

Could we possibly love this guy ANY MORE? Either David Harbour is as much of a good guy in real life as he is when he’s playing the good cop in Hawkins, Indiana or we’re all living in the Upside Down. Bravo to the actor for being willing to reach out and touch the lives of his fans.

As for us, we’ll take advice from Damaris and Ericka when it comes to reaching out to people we admire on social media because, you know … stranger things have happened!
