My daughter recently outgrew the 40 pound weight limit on her car seat, so it was time for us to look into booster seats. At first I was very overwhelmed by all of the different options. I wasn’t sure where we should go next which was the safest choice, which would be the most comfortable for my daughter, and which would last us the longest (I don’t ever want to buy another car seat!). I decided I needed to investigate and share my findings with you in case it might help. I tested out many different seats, and have three favorites to share with you. First up was my review of the Britax Parkway SGL. Next up is the Evenflo Symphony 65 e3 All-in-One. This isn’t really fair is it, because this is an all-in-one car seat, not a straight booster seat. But it made our top three so we are including it. In fact, I wish I had bought this when my daughter was smaller so I could have saved myself having to change seats so much!
Let me tell you why we chose it…
The Evenflo Symphony 65 e3 All-in-One should be used in the following ways as your child grows:
The Rear Facing 5 to 40 lbs.
Forward Facing with 5-Point Harness 20 to 65 lbs.
Forward Facing as a Belt-Positioning Booster 40 to 110 lbs.
Like all the booster seats we chose, it meets all safety standards. So I will share with you the high points that made us choose this as one of our top three boosters:
The number one reason my daughter loves this car seat is simple, pure comfort. It is soft, squishy, and extremely cozy. I don’t know if it is the “Superior e3 Triple-Layer Foam” or the “ComfortTouch Padding,” but whatever it is, it is conducive to long naps and less whining “are we there yet?” WIN.
If you prefer to use the 5-point harness for as long as possible, this seat is the one of our top choices that can accommodate children up to 65 pounds within the five point harness. We use it as a belt-positioning booster, and find that the way the belt slides over the seat is very simple for my kid to do, and the unique position keeps the edge of the belt from digging into her middle like so many of the other seats did.
It’s too late for us – but if we had bought this seat sooner, it would have been the only one we ever needed. Maybe next time 🙂
