Kids Reveal How They Would Redecorate Their Homes

Decor

I have often wondered how our home would look if we handed the decorating reins over to our 7-year-old son. According to him, the walls would all be green, there would be a slide in every room, and definitely a soft serve ice cream machine in the den.

So I thought it would be fun to interview a few lifestyle bloggers’ kids to see how they would redecorate their own homes. Some of the answers were insightful, but most were just down right adorable!

Decor

Matilda, 2, and Parker, 4, children of Kelly from Cloudy Day Gray

What color would you paint the walls?
Matilda: No.
Parker: Bright green … light green … whitish green.

What would your dream living room look like?
Matilda: Bouncy house.
Parker: It would have a door that connects to Grandma’s house. That is all I have ever wanted.

What do you dislike the most about your home decor?
Matilda: No dogs.
Parker: I don’t like the floor because it is slippery. Carpet would be better. I don’t like germs, and I don’t like when bees get in the house.

If you could add one thing to your home, what would it be?
Matilda: George, monkey George.
Parker: A bakery shop with donuts, or a different house.

Decor

M, 6, and O, 8, sons of Sharon from Cupcakes and Cutlery

What color would you paint the walls?
M: Dark crocodile green.
O: Black.

What would your dream living room look like?
M: It would have a TV and a couch that can turn into a bed. And computer spaces and an awesome food maker machine, like a donut maker.
O: Big, huge space that has lots of TVs. Each person would have their own personal couch. There would be a chandelier with a disco ball. And there would be red and black fading lights like a concert.

What do you dislike the most about your home decor?
M: Our walls are just plain white.
O: Our house is a little boring and old-timey themed. It is so not 2015.

If you could add one thing to your home, what would it be?
M: A cotton candy maker with a built in TV for my room.
O: I would replace our TV with a much bigger one.
