The colorblock trend has been around for a while now, and I’m still kind of obsessed with it! These super simple and easy-to-make colorblock candlesticks are fun and are great for adding a pop of color around the house. You can make a couple to set on your mantle or a whole bunch for an upcoming party. Either way, you will be glad you made them! You just need a couple of supplies to make them and they cost next to nothing. That is my kind of craft! Let’s get started, shall we?
DIY Colorblock Candlesticks
First off, let’s gather our supplies!
- ready-to-finish wooden candlesticks
- acrylic craft paint
- foam brush
- masking tape
- Use your tape to mark off the area you want to paint. This can be a little tricky to get a straight line so if you find you’re having trouble, just use smaller pieces of tape and it should be much easier to manage.
- Paint! I used at least three coats on my sticks to be sure I got complete coverage. You may need to do more or less depending on the look you are going for, the color of your paint, and the candlestick itself. These bare wood ones sucked up a lot of the paint, so more coats were needed.
- Wait for the paint to dry completely, then remove the tape! Place your candles in them and you’re done! They’re so easy and I love the outcome.
