The Morning Rush: 10 Must-Have Products

While every working mom situation has it’s challenges, I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to drop off my son at preschool and head right back to my home office — eliminating the need to look completely polished in a time crunch. And I say this having been a work-out-of-the-home mom for almost a year — commuting over 2 hours each morning after dropping off my sleepy-eyed infant at 6:30 a.m.

I know what that life is like.

And here are 10 must-have products — from fashion to beauty — that every working mom needs for the morning rush:

  • City Clips, $35 for 4 clips 1 of 10
City Clips, $35 for 4 clips
You're planning on wearing heels at the office, but do you really want to shuffle the kids out of the house and unload them at preschool while wearing a pair of 3-inch heels? And for you city dwellers (or city commuters), you know that you'd rather book it down the blocks wearing comfy flats and change into your heels upstairs. The problem? Your pants are the right length for heels, not flats.
So to prevent your work pants from dragging through the dirt, fold up your pants and clip on some City Clips. The 2011 collection comes in 12 different styles, including a 14 ct gold plated buttons and preppy pearl buttons. They're also available in black, denim or gray to match your pants. And each 4-clip set comes with two decorative clips and two plain.

    Gal Pal, $11 for two
I first tried these a few years back, before my morning commute involved breastfeeding or poop explosions, and I was still grateful to have these little deodorant removers in my bag. These little sponge-like pads erase deodorant from dark shirts without any water marks, so they just might help with spit-up stains too.
