The Pigeon We All Know and Love Has Been Animated

Mo Willems’ books are favorites around here, including Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The kids love them, and my husband and I love reading them, so I had high expectations when I heard that several of Willems’ books had been turned into animated features. Turns out they’re even better than I imagined.

The characters are voiced by Willems himself, along with his daughter, Trixie, whose voice is especially sweet to hear on Knuffle Bunny. Also included in the collection: Knuffle Bunny Too, The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed, and of course, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus (plus several bonus features and an interview with the author). The DVDs feature a read-along option too, so your kids see the words along the bottom of the screen as the story plays.

And I have a little bonus for you: a couple of coloring pages to print out!

Mo Willems’ Pigeon and Pals: Complete Cartoon Collection, Vol. 1&2 is available now, for $19.95.
