A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

As I’ve mentioned before, I love to take photographs. As I’ve also mentioned before, I am far from a profesional photographer. But I still fall in love with some of my pictures sometimes. And lately, I’ve been noticing more and more that I am relying on my iPhone camera more than my DSLR. It’s easier to take with me when I’m on the go, and I always have my phone with me, so I naturally use it more often.

I am particularly in love with the iPhone app Instagram. I love being able to apply different filters to my photos, and Instagram makes it insanely easy to share your photos via Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr and email.

After the jump, I’ll share some of my favorite Instagram photos, and then I’ll give you the details of an awesome photography inspired giveaway!

If you’re not using Instagram yet I put together a slideshow to show you how I’ve been using it to capture some significant moments in our lives over the past year. These pictures will all be front and center in any photo album or calendar I make.

I’ve partnered with the lovely people at Keepsy, who have offered to give one custom 30 page photo album and one custom 2012 photo calendar to Kid Scoop readers! Keepsy  makes it almost too easy to take your photos from Flickr, your computer, Facebook, Picasa and even Instagram and instantaneously turn them into a photo album or calendar. The best part, though, is that you can even make a gift calendar for a friend or family member of their Instagram photos! As long as you follow them on Instagram, their photos are available for a surprise gift! How cool is that?!
