5 Baby Product Must-Haves for the New MomCarmen Ordonez
Those first few months when you have a baby (especially if it’s your first) can be a whirlwind. Although my husband and I probably read a million and one parenting books, the advice all went down the drain once our baby was born. He’ll be 5 months old next week, and I think these 5 baby products definitely made those first few months so much easier.
Here are some of my favorites products you should check out pronto!
What were some of your favorite baby products? Any others I should check out now that my little one is getting older?
Fisher-Price Little Snug-a-Bunny Swing 1 of 5
This swing was amazing for the first few months. It has some birdies and a mirror right on top and he would spend hours just staring at them. It also reclines back so we would use it for his naps. The combination of the swinging and the built-in sound machine would make him fall asleep so quick! It also helped free up my hands when I wanted to make dinner.
Sophie the Giraffe 2 of 5
A lot of new moms will quickly come to learn about Sophie the Giraffe. At first the squeaky toy reminded me of a dog toy, but my baby loved it. It helped keep him entertained when we went to the pediatrician. Once he becomes older (and starts teething) they say it also makes a great chew toy.
Available at Pottery Barn Kids, $23
Swaddle Blankets 3 of 5
We used these Swaddle Me blankets right up until our baby turned three months old. It helped him sleep better at night since they say the coziness reminds them of being back in the womb and prevents them from waking up from flailing arms. I also tried the Halo Sleep Sack, but he would easily Houdini himself out of it. I also heard the Miracle Blanket is another great option.
Available at Target.
Graco Sweet Slumber Sound Machine 4 of 5
We probably went through three different sound machines until we found this one. The other ones we found were not loud enough and he would wake up several times throughout the night. This one has several different options, from white noise to beach waves. It also doesn't have a timer, so we can keep it on the entire night. Again this also reminds them of being back in the womb, which is three times louder than a vacuum cleaner.
Boba 3G Carier 5 of 5
This Boba Carier was also great for freeing up my hands. I would use it when I had to make quick runs to the supermarket or when I working at my desk--talk about multi-tasking. My husband would also use it a lot when he did laundry (I'm banned from doing laundry at my house--but that's an entirely different post ha!).
