You’re going to laugh when I tell you about my typo. I accidentally wrote “Guacamalo”. Those of you who know a little Español, you’re probably laughing out loud with me. Guac is anything but “malo”.
My mom is Mexican, so I grew up eating a mean guacamole dip! It was a staple food in our casa, the dish that brought it all together. Needless to say, I’m a big guac fan. Guacamole is a delicious , creamy sauce that tastes amazing with most Mexican dishes. It’s quite healthy and filling. As you may know, avocado is chock full of antioxidants, folate and fiber.
So don’t pick those avocado pieces out of your food! “Some people, in their attempts to be health-conscious, avoid avocados due to the relatively high fat and calorie content of these fruits (138 calories and 14.1g fat in half a medium-sized avocado). Yet avocados are one of the best foods you can eat, packed with nutrients and heart-healthy compounds.” via Best Health Mag But this mono-saturated fat is good for you. It helps boost brain function and reduce risk of heart disease, among other things.
