How I Would Style Latina Actresses for the Oscars®Monique Frausto
Can you believe we’re nearing the end of movie award’s season? They save the best for last, don’t they? It’s time for The Academy Awards®!
Whenever they roll around, I’m always curious to see what our favorite actresses will be wearing on the red carpet. Yes, I care about who will walk away with the coveted golden statue, but for me it’s all about the gorgeous designer gowns that make an appearance. I’m more exceed over the drama of who will win the title of “Best Dressed.”
So in preparation for this Sunday, I pretended like I was a stylist to some of Hollywood’s hottest Latina actresses. A girl can dream can’t she?
Here’s how I would style them for The Academy Awards®:
Light Layers for Penelope 1 of 6
Penelope Cruz would float down the red carpet in this gorgeous Reem Acra gown. I would love to see her in something ethereal and light. And, of course, this dreamy dress calls for a crystal Natasha Couture clutch and simple metallic Nina pumps.

Lace for Jenny from the Block 2 of 6
We all know that Jennifer Lopez loves to be daring on the red carpet. That's why I think this Stella McCartney long sleeve sheath and lace gown would be perfect for her. The Alexander McQueen clutch and Jason Wu heels add the edge to this ensemble.
Dress available at Barney's New York, $5,765
Clutch available at Saks Fifth Avenue, $1,275
Shoes available at Saks Fifth Avenue, $795
Bold Color for a Petite Salma 3 of 6
Salma Hayek may be a petite woman, but this chartreuse gown by J. Mendel would make her a standout on the Oscars® red carpet. It looks like it was destined for her curves. Because of the bold color, I paired a chic black Oscar de la Renta pump and Bottega Veneta satin clutch.
Dress available at Moda Operandi, $7,900
Clutch available at Saks Fifth Avenue, $1,750
Shoes available at Neiman Marcus, $945
Pattern and Pizazz for Cameron 4 of 6
Only Cameron Diaz could pull off this black and white striped gown. Designed by J.Mendel, this Nautique Strapless Bustier dress is on trend, and not your average red carpet look. The Nancy Gonzalez red clutch adds a pop of color and the Alexandre Birman sandal keeps the look to a minimum.
Dress available at J.Mendel, $5,800
Clutch available at Neiman Marcus, $1,400
Shoes available at Neiman Marcus, $595
Classic Glam for Camila 5 of 6
Someone needs to stun in white on the red carpet, and I think it should be Camila Alves. This Lanvin gown is divine! Don't even get me started on the amazing ruffle! The metallic glitter Gianvito Rossi pump and gold Tom Ford minaudiere add the golden touch.
Dress available at Net-A-Porter, $5,845
Clutch available at Neiman Marcus, $2,700
Shoes available at Barney's, $760
Pure, Sweet Romance for Zoe 6 of 6
I hope we get to see a few romantic gowns at the Oscars®, and there's no one I'd rather see in one than Zoe Saldana. She would look gorgeous in this blush Marchesa gown. The crystal encrusted Sondra Roberts minaudiere and silver Charlotte Olympia heels would round out the look.
