Viva Weddings: Luis & Lizeth’s Cinco de Mayo Wedding

I started blogging in 2008. One of the first blogs I created was about weddings. I had planned my entire wedding from top to bottom and I wanted to share what I learned. I know the love and passion that goes into planning this special day. I also know how important it is to make sure it reflects who you and your future partner are. This includes your heritage.

And since Cinco de Mayo (fifth of May) is right around the corner, I was inspired and determined to search for weddings that celebrated not only love, but the Mexican culture. That’s when I came across Luis and Lizeth’s Cinco de Mayo wedding.

Photographed by, I knew I had to share their wedding day with you. I am kind of obsessed with this wedding. I wish I would’ve thought of this! I think when it comes to planning the perfect day, we sometimes forget to add our personality and where you come from. This is something Luis and Lizeth did not forget.

In Lizeth’s words:

Luis and I have always been proud our culture and celebrate it every chance we get, so we chose our date accordingly Cinco de Mayo, 2012. We wanted to highlight many of our cultures contributions which included: tequila, tacos, beer, jarritos, aguas frescas, sweet bread, buñuelos, candy, paper flowers, piñatas and finally lots of color.

As you’ll see in the gallery below, The Goodness  designed their save the dates, invitations, programs and guestbook. The Loteria (Mexican Bingo) card idea is awesome! On a serious note, I’m kind of sad I don’t know this couple and wasn’t invited to this cool wedding.  Visit to see a lot more photos from Luis and Lizeth’s Cinco de Mayo wedding.
