Best Buy is changing and no longer will it be the store that you are use to. Sure, you may have noticed the little Apple store inside Best Buy, where they offer their line of products. Apparently that is working for both Best Buy and Apple and now Best Buy is befriending other brands.
In April, it was announced that Samsung is launching Samsung Experience Shops inside of 1,400 Best Buy locations over the next few months. The Experience Shops allows Samsung to showcase their products and allows customers to interact with the various devices. The magnitude of having a store-within-a-store draws attention to the Samsung brand, distracting attention from other brands offering similar products.
Just announced, Microsoft will be launching Windows stores inside of 600 North America Best Buy stores. The Windows Stores will replace replace the computer department at the participating Best Buy locations. Microsoft will be able to showcase their full line of consumer products… from PCs, software, tablets, phones and even Xboxes. Employees will be trained by Microsoft.
It’s an interesting concept to see how these brands are moving in on Best Buy, but if you think about it – it’s quite brilliant. Best Buy is sure to gain financial ground from the store within a store concept. With the competition of online purchases, these unique shops will help draw customers into the brick and mortar.
