I met my husband at work. We used to do TV newscasts together. We were the ‘Weekend Team’…. I did news and he did sports. It makes for a great ‘how-did-you-meet’ story… and the bonus? We have great video (if you can get past my sad anchor-bob haircut) of our bantering and good times.
The kids love it. But I’m trying (and failing) to picture us working together now. I mean, we could ‘part-time’…. but not full-time work and full-time family together. We are too much alike and honestly, he’d take a contract out on me in no time at all.
It seems Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos feel the same way. This Huffington Post article says, despite the going-on-six-month search for a replacement for Regis Philbin….and despite the fact that Consuelos HAS filled in, the couple would prefer to keep their marriage in tact. And doing the show together + staying married does not equal a happy option.
Do you…could you… work with your spouse? If so, what’s the trick to making it work? If not…. why?
