Fourth Smallest Baby in the World Born in January Defies All Odds

When North Carolina mom Nicki Moore delivered her baby girl after just 24 weeks of pregnancy, the doctors told her there was less than a 10 percent chance that her child would survive.

Kenna, who is believed to be the fourth smallest baby in the world, was born to the Moore family weighing just 272 grams, or 9 ounces, on January 9th and has spent her life so far defying those odds. She now weighs 3 pounds 3 ounces and was recently moved from an incubator to a crib.

Her mother says she is proud of what a fighter her daughter is. Kenna has battled liver problems and at one point required almost constant blood transfusions as well as assistance breathing. It is currently unknown what health problems she will face as she grows, but doctors have begun discussing when baby Kenna can go home.
