Layered looks not only help you get the most out of your kids’ clothes, they also go a long way to keeping your children warm or cool enough as their environment changes. I dress my daughter in layered looks a lot because they help me use her summer clothes into winter. For example, add a basic long-sleeved tee underneath a short-sleeved tee, then throw a sweatshirt or fleece over that and there are two layers she can keep on or remove as needed. Hot in gym class? Lose the hoodie and short-sleeved tee. Cold in the cafeteria? Put one or both back on. I also use zip-up sweaters over cap-sleeved summer dresses paired with heavy tights to make warm-weather looks work in the cold.
