Missoni for Target: Would You Pay $20 for Baby Leggings at TARGET?Stephanie Precourt
The long-anticipated Missoni for Target collection descended onto the racks yesterday to eager shoppers online and in-store, so much that it crashed the Target website (and seems to continue to do so) and flew off the racks. Twitter was abuzz all day with happy consumers tweeting what they were able to snatch up.
Toward the end of the day I did find myself at Tar-jay even though I had planned to stay away- I didn’t really see what all the fuss was about and also didn’t need the temptation in case it was as amazing as everyone was making it out to be. But, there we were and I casually (frantically) skimmed the racks for any sight of Missoni’s popular stripes.
The children’s section still had plenty of the orange, purples, and pinks and I looked at the tag for a baby sweater- $34.99. At Target? A beautiful floral swing coat in 4T boasted a price of $40. I know it’s Missoni and all, but it’s Missoni for TARGET, people. A pair of leggings that are as thin as tights were cute, with the Missoni zig zag stripes on the bottom. $19.99. For leggings in size 2T.
Mostly that shopping trip left me with a meh shrug about the whole collection. Not as exciting as I thought it would be and definitely not as affordable. P.S. I totally bought the leggings.
What do you think of the Missoni for Target collection? Did you snag some pieces? Would you pay that much for kid clothes from Target?
