Only In New York: 25 Incredible Shots of Gotham Weddings

Spring is finally here, and wedding season will soon be upon us! Like babies, all weddings are beautiful, but there’s something uniquely spectacular about getting married in New York. The architecture, the water, the incredible party venues, the stunning flowers and the amazing food are all part of what makes a New York wedding unforgettable.

Those of us who live in New York have been part of more weddings than we’ve been invited to, since so many NYC weddings take place in our network of public parks. It’s always such a delight to see a blushing bride and groom with their families all dressed up getting married outdoors. Some of the photos I’ve included below were taken by such civilian onlookers, providing a window not just into the world of the wedding party but the lives of New Yorkers at large. The rest of the photos were provided to me by New York wedding photographer Daniel Krieger, whose images are truly a testament to the vibrancy of the city and its beloved locales. They’re sure to give any engaged couple wedding inspiration and stir a romantic love of New York in your heart:

Love the way the stripes in the bride's gown are echoed by the stripes on the metal door behind her!

The High Line is one of the coolest parks in NYC. It's a reclaimed elevated train track that is becoming a natural oasis. Interesting to note: The High Line is not a NYC public park, but it is free and open to the public.

Prospect Park is the shiniest gem in Brooklyn's splendiferous cultural crown. It doesn't host as many weddings as Central Park, but I've seen lots of gorgeous wedding and engagement photos taken at the Boathouse. It's nice to see a couple pose by the Picnic House, which is also really beautiful on the inside.
