Sell Your Kid's Halloween Candy

Too much candy!

Looking for a new and exciting way to upset your kids and make them hate you forever?  Yes, you could force them to do their homework before watching television.  Or make them go to bed at a decent hour every single night of their lives.  But they kind of expect that, don’t they?

No, if you are looking for something that’s going to make a really big impression and keep them angry for a good long time, you are going to have to think out of the box.  I’ve got it!  How about selling their Halloween candy?

While they are at school, nip out to a participating dentist’s office and unload that stuff.  Seriously, the expressions on their little faces when they get home from school to find their candy stashes gone will be priceless and totally worth the time and effort on your part.

All kidding aside, selling your kid’s Halloween candy is actually a pretty good idea.  And, if you actually involve the kids in the process, they won’t hate you at all for it.

The Halloween Candy Buy Back Program involves dentists who will give you a little cash for your candy and, in turn, send the candy on to Operation Gratitude or other U.S. military support groups.  It’s a great way to teach your kids about helping others and being selfless and a wonderful way to let those brave men and women stationed overseas know we are thinking about them here at home.

I don’t know about you, but we ended up with way more Halloween candy than we started with.  While we gave plenty away to trick-or-treaters, we brought even more home.  We don’t need or want all of it and plan to donate most of it to the cause.  Find a participating dentist in your area by entering your zip code here.
