In a timely appearance just before the holiday shopping season, Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles visited The View this morning in support of Tina’s latest design offering, Miss Tina by Tina Knowles, sold exclusively at Wal*Mart stores.  There are 30 pieces in the Miss Tina collection, which was released in October, and many of them have been so popular they’re out of stock on the retailer’s website.  With smart, savvy looks that work for style-conscious women at any age and a price point of $20 or less for most items, the Miss Tina line is sure to be a hit with mothers and daughters everywhere.

Tina and Beyonce brought models of every shape, size and age to showcase the collection at today’s taping of the hit ABC talk show.  Both women have long been involved in fashion design, having created costumes for Destiny’s Child and their high-end House of Deréon and Deréon labels.  Not only do all of the pieces in the Miss Tina collection come in sizes ranging from 2-20, but according to Styleist, “Knowles and her team have paid attention to details when sizing up or down.”

“For example,” they say, “a dress in one of the smallest sizes hits the model at mid-thigh. In the middle size, it’s just above her knee. And in the largest sizes, it’s at the model’s knee.”  Knowles says, “We adjust the fit to hit at the most attractive area of the body.  I like to accentuate the positive and figure out how to show people looking their best.”  Take a look:

If you’re looking for affordable fashion for your tween or teen daughter for the holidays, you can check for online and in-store availability of the Miss Tina collection here.  I love the women’s taffeta jacket in pewter, the ruche-sleeve metallic cardigans in grape royale and pewter and the ruched legging in pewter, in case my own mother is reading.  Wal*Mart released several of its Black Friday deals today, and most stores will open at 5 am the day after Thanksgiving.
