Remember that time when I gave you advice on how to be the best wedding guest ever? I made reference to the bouquet toss, something I personally never liked and even omitted at my own wedding. Even so, I believe that it is important to participate if the bride asks you to. It was a lesson that took me a while to learn.
But now, I’m not so sure. I know women can get a little aggressive when it comes to the bouquet toss. After all, tradition says if you catch it you’re next to get hitched. But much like love, there are risks involved when participating in the bouquet toss. Things can get a little dangerous. That said, I am not telling you to make a run for the bathroom the next time the DJ announces the bouquet toss at a wedding reception. But proceed with caution. The times I have participated in one, I often stood on the outside, away from all potential divers and tacklers.
Much like matters of the heart, sometimes you just have to use your best judgment.
