My daughter is closing in on 4-years-old now and we still have that big old bed rail guard thingy we got when we first transitioned her from a crib to a bed.
It’s not that she can’t climb out of the bed on her own, obviously, but I just don’t trust her not to flop off the bed while sleeping and bang her tender little noggin.
But the bed rail is big and bulky and annoying. I didn’t realize there was an alternative, until now…
As usual, Jezebel, one of my most favorite websites in the whole word, showcased a quick, easy and inexpensive solution to keep your kids from flopping out of bed in the middle of the night.
A user on Reddit submitted the idea. All you need is one fitted sheet and a couple of pool noodles which you can buy for a song at Walmart. Put the fitted sheet on the bed and add a pool noodle UNDER the sheet on each side – or just the one side if your kid’s bed is against the wall.
As Jezebel notes, ” It may not work if your kid is a heavy duty roller, but for two bucks worth of pool noodles it’s worth trying out.
Anybody ever tried this before? Did it work? Fill us in!
