When Ashleigh Miller-Cross headed down to The Bayers Lake Atlantic Superstore in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, she went in for groceries — but came out with something much more special.
Unaware she was pregnant, she ended up in the store restroom — literally giving birth — when the store’s assistant manager Malcolm Comeau found her. “”I opened the door and Ashleigh was there and the baby was halfway out,” Comeau told Love What Matters.
Astoundingly, this pregnancy was a complete surprise for Miller-Cross, who had just had a baby 10 months prior. “I didn’t grow any extra,” she told CTV. “I was just the same size. I didn’t have any cravings.”
Comeau said he called 911, but little Ezra was already born by the time paramedics arrived. Mom and baby both ended up fine — and since then, there’s been nothing but an outpouring of love for the family. For one, the store where Ezra was born gifted them with a year’s worth of diapers.
After hearing their story, photographer Jen Matchett also met with the family and took the absolute cutest photos of baby Ezra to celebrate his dramatic arrival. We love this one of him in the store basket!
Congrats to mom and her new little celebrity!
