As a single lady rapidly approaching 30, you can imagine I do my fair share of avoiding my aunts at holiday parties.
“So Amy, any nice gentlemen on the horizon?”
“So Amy, does your sister’s boyfriend have any nice friends? Or a brother perhaps?!”
“So Amy, could you pass the cheese? And also, are you seeing anyone?”
I love them. I do. They’re some of the best people I’ll ever know. But I can only imagine the next-level interrogations I am going to get once I actually find some guy to put a ring on it.
Which is why I TOTALLY get where Matt Kay and Abby Lee were coming from when they decided to do a newborn photo shoot with their dog, Humphry, and put an end to all the baby questions.
Their too-cute photo shoot was posted on Facebook by their friend, Australia-based photographer Elisha Minnette, on August 19 and has since gone viral.
Photographer Elisha Minnette told Babble that she is great friends with the couple and they all came up with the idea to do the photoshoot after they picked up Humphry from a Groodle breeder.
For those of you who are not familiar, a “Groodle” is a mix between a purebred Poodle and Golden Retriever and I don’t know about you but he is THE CUTEST THING I’VE SEEN IN FOREVER.
But I digress.
Collins and Lee are always looking for something fun and creative to collaborate on, and so the idea for a newborn photo shoot was born.
“Abby and I have the craziest sense of humour,” Collins explained. “We feed off of each other with ideas.”
And boy are we glad they did! Look at that face! OK, I’m off topic again …
The shoot, which features little Humphry in a bassinet, swaddled in a blanket, and even taking his “first” steps, was as fun as it looks!
“The shoot was hilarious [and] everything went so smoothly,” said Collins. “The pup was enjoying every second of it, [especially] all the treats he was getting.”
For those of you who think this was done with any malicious intent or to make fun of new parents, Collins assures me that was not the case. “This was just clean, simple Sunday-afternoon fun.”
As for the star of the show, Humphry, Collins assures us we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future. And I don’t know about you, but I personally cannot wait.
