When 18-year-old Avery Leilani Foster’s mom dropped her off at Texas State University’s freshman orientation, she had no idea what was about to happen next.
After her mom left, Avery received a bunch of photos from her, posing with the half-naked football team — and looking pretty darn happy about it.
“I made some friends. Don’t wait up!” her mom texted with the photos.
Avery posted her mom’s text on Twitter, with the caption “My mom dropped me off today for College freshman orientation and she sends me this… ”
The tweet has received over 300K likes and 60K retweets in just ONE day. “My mom got more action than me,” Avery commented on the tweet.
Obviously, the burning question is: What happened in this photo and how does one go about accomplishing this?!
Turns out, the school invited parents to have dinner on the football field, and announced a photo contest asking people to take silly selfies. As Avery explained to Babble, the football players happened to be practicing there as well, and most people (with good reason!) were sneakily trying to get the football players in the background of their photos. But instead, her mom walked straight up to them and asked if they’d pose with her. Because why be ashamed? Clearly, they obliged. And we love how at one point they even gave her the football!
So, how surprised was Avery to get these photos from her mom?
“This did not shock me,” she told Babble. “My mom is very silly, weird, and has a bit of a wild side sometimes.”
More power to her!
