If you haven’t been jealous of a newborn yet, you’re about to be.
A pregnant mom was five hours into a flight from Dubai to Manila when she began to have contractions. This was shocking, as she was not due for five more weeks, but as any pregnant woman knows — when it’s time, it’s time! Luckily, two nurses were on board the flight and assisted a slightly panicked crew in delivering a healthy baby, Haven, into the world (well, specifically, the sky).
The budget airline, Cebu Pacific Air, was so excited about their first baby born inflight that they awarded the newborn with 1 million travel points to share amongst her family, also known as free flights FOR LIFE. Oh the places you’ll go, Haven!
Missy Berberabe Umandal, who was sitting a few aisles over from the expectant mother on the flight, recalled the birth on her Facebook page, and it’s quickly going viral.
“She was already crowning, so she was brought to the more spacious area in front of the plane. We only heard one semi-loud screech, and a few seconds later, there were tinier, cute screeches, and it was when we knew the baby was born. Luckily, she only had to push ONCE. Moments later, the woman got up to go back to her seat, baby in arms (mighty strong, I might say).”
So, not only does this new mama get to share on her daughter’s bounty of airline points, but she only had to push once?! Then she returned to her seat!? This woman is arguably the strongest, luckiest lady alive. The other passengers on the flight, not so much. The arrival of Haven delayed their travel by nearly nine hours, as they had to stop in India for further medical assistance. Umandal continued to say, “But no complaints. Everyone in that plane was blessed.”
This is truly an incredible birth story if we’ve ever heard one. Congratulations to the new mom and baby girl!More On
