Guys, Candace Payne is having a serious moment. And it is a glorious thing to watch.
Let’s just recount the last six days for Payne, shall we?
Thursday, May 19: Purchases Chewbacca mask at a local Kohl’s. Tries it on and instantly loses her sh*t, whilst recording a Facebook live video from her car.
Friday, May 20: Wakes up to discover that her Facebook live video has now gone viral, and the entire world is now watching her joyous freak-out on repeat.
Sunday, May 22: Learns that her unboxing video has been officially declared the most-watched Facebook live video ever. (To date, it’s surpassed 145 million views, and counting.)
Monday, May 23: Makes a morning stop-over at Good Morning America, where she discusses her newfound viral fame. She then spends the afternoon taping an episode of The Late Late Show, where she performs in a skit with James Corden and JJ FRICKIN’ ABRAMS.
And then, as if things weren’t already awesome enough for Payne, this little cherry on top came yesterday, on Tuesday, May 24: The Mark Zuckerberg himself invited Payne to the headquarters of Facebook in Menlo Park, California, where she participated in another Facebook live video (which involved more adorably infectious laughter), and then proceeded to ride bikes all over the FB campus — with a Wookiee. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to make sense, just go with it.)
“We invited Candace Payne — whose Chewbacca mask video got 141 million views and is now the most-watched Facebook Live video ever — to come by Facebook HQ today,” wrote Zuckerberg in a Facebook post Tuesday. “And we had a fun surprise for her!”
That he did.
The resulting photos of Candace’s epic afternoon have gone viral in and of themselves, clocking in at just over 1.2 million likes by Wednesday morning. And just in case you’re wondering what else the Internet-famous mom did while at Facebook, Zuckerberg offers some photographic evidence.
Aside from taking a joyous bike ride, Candace and her new Wookiee friend also shared a few laughs over a cappuccino.
And just generally freaked out over the fact that OMG IT’S FACEBOOK.
Keep on living your best life, Candace. We are all loving it.More On
