Fun Events & Activities for You and Your Pet (pictures)Amy Fleck
There are tons of things you could be doing with your pet. Not just the usual walk in the park, but new and fun stuff. Check out if your town has a Howl-a-ween party or is holding a Pup Rally. Maybe your dog could win an ugliest dog contest. And, if you were hoping to travel with your pet, you can do that too. It’s not hard to find out where these events are being held or which restaurants welcomes dogs.
While there are lots of sites that list events in any given town or city, these two websites offered events and information for the United States as well as other countries. You will be able to find out what’s going on in your town as well as how to travel with a pet or what restaurants are pet friendly. Bring Fido and PetsWelcome.com are both super, easy-to-use sites. They are definitely worth checking out.
One thing to keep in mind – some events are for pets and people, while others are just for people raising money for pets. You definitely want to make sure ahead of time. As you will see in the slide show below, there were some pretty peeved pets when they found out they would be sitting home while their people went out for a night on the town. Also, make note of the names of some of these events, you might want to use them for your own events and fundraisers.
Dogtoberfest 1 of 9What do you mean there's only beer for the people? That doesn't work for me.
Woofstock 2 of 9For once it's humans being made to do silly things. Please note the Human Barking Contest.
Howl-o-ween 3 of 9This Howl-o-ween event includes dogs in costumes.
Puppy Plunge 4 of 9These dogs will have to work hard to raise funds for the SPCA. They have to compete in an ugliest dog contest and a bikini contest AND be plunged into water.
This event was run by Happy Tails Pet Resort.
Catoberfest 5 of 9CATober fest dude, not PEOPLEtoberfest. Tell me again why you are going to a party and I am staying home?

Howl-o-ween 6 of 9All dressed up and nowhere to go. The poor girl doesn't realize that her person's Howl-o-ween party is people only.
Catsino Night 7 of 9Um, Catsino Night sounds a lot like you should be taking these cats out with you and not leaving them laying all over me. (Turns out cats can't gamble).

Petapalooza 8 of 9I was kind of expecting to see animals on the stage playing instruments. Just saying.
Puptoberfest 9 of 9Yet another misleading event title. This poor puppy probably cried all night when he heard he was staying home alone.
