You don’t have to study animals to know that they have the ability to sense when humans are hurt or troubled. Although there is scientific proof that dogs can sniff out cancer and alert owners when danger is imminent, all you really have to do is watch how animals react to people. And it’s not just domesticated pets that are tuned in with the human folk around them. Marine animals are pretty observant with their zoo visitors, too.
In the video below, a little girl runs back and forth with a lively sea lion. Through the glass, they bond and enjoy a game of tag as best they can. While the sea lion swims back and forth, the girl runs in the same direction.
Then the little girl falls down and the sea lion immediately notices and stops mid-swim to see what’s going on. Check out this observant sea lion and see what he does when his playing partner takes a fall.
