24 Week Update and 3D Sono: YAY Viability!Casi Densmore-Koon
Let’s see. Where did I leave off last? It’s been such a whirlwind of a pregnancy and things change everyday – I can never remember. Oh, that’s right. We left off here; I was asking for some faith and prayers. Well, it looks like I got them. Most of them at least. 4 weeks ago I remember writing this post through my very teary eyes. Oh, and this one too. Now, I can say – some of my prayers have been answered.
I’ve learned that no matter how much I worry, it will never change the outcome. Easier said than done I know, but I’m trying to look at the positive not the negative. This week hasn’t been so bad. I’ve only had two small bumps in the road. First, I had an all of a sudden allergic reaction to my weekly shot to prevent preterm delivery. My body didn’t react to last’s weeks well at all and I am covered in a horrific rash. Needless to say, I had to skip the shot this week until they could figure out what to do and I meet with my doctor tomorrow to get the outcome.
I’ve also still had pretty bad contractions – in fact, I almost made a trip to the hospital last night. The pelvic pressure and dizziness was getting the best of me. They are concerned that my blood pressure may be too low on the medication I’m taking every 4 hours so, I’m guessing that will be something else we discuss.
On a better note – baby boy is perfection. The sono, for the first time ever (see below) — didn’t show anything and was normal. Yes, normal. I’m 24 weeks and this is the first time! Weight off my shoulders for sure. The kidney problem I spoke about earlier has so far, corrected itself and he is weighing in the 70% at 1lbs. 6oz. And the best part — we have now made it to viability. I am SO thrilled to be 24 weeks today.
I was even more excited to see my little man behaving for his sono too! He decided to be nice for once and show us his face. Take a peek at a few pictures I snapped going into 24 weeks!
