We all hear about and many of us suffer from morning sickness during pregnancy. With all the talk about it, you’d think it’s the worst thing pregnant women go through. Well. Let. Me. Say. A dear friend of mine is due in March, and she’s been suffering from heartburn for months. When she first told me about it, I thought, “Heartburn? From pregnancy?” And she said in the most sincere way anyone has ever wished anything for me, “I really hope this doesn’t happen to you.”
Wow, it’s THAT bad? I thought maybe she was just having a flair-for-the-dramatic moment, as we sometimes do during our pregnancies.

So I spent a few days scared that I’d be suffering for the next five months, and then I decided: Oh no you don’t, Heartburn. I’ve had it good so far. I will not let you ruin me.

3. Fennel Seeds
Fennel seed tea and fennel seed oil both work great to ward off heartburn by soothing the digestive tract and reducing acid and inflammation.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar
I know this seems like a crazy one! “How am I supposed to get vinegar down when my throat is burning?!” But, amazingly, this works like a charm. Consuming apple cider vinegar actually sends a message to your stomach to stop producing acid, thus your heartburn is relieved. It’s one of those small wonders of the world.
5. Raw Almonds
The oil found in almonds neutralizes stomach acid and soothes your symptoms. They’re also a great source of calcium and protein. So eat up!
Sauerkraut, and all fermented foods (like pickles, kimchi, and kefir) reduce heartburn. And over time, they can actually improve the health of your stomach by providing beneficial bacteria to your gut.
7. Milk & Honey
Add a tablespoon of honey into warm milk, and enjoy a sweet treat that might just help your heartburn. Personally, I don’t drink milk because I think it’s disgusting, but this might work for you!
