8 Great DIY Projects For Your Nursery

Now that I’m about halfway through this pregnancy, planning a nursery is starting to creep up on my agenda.  The only problem is that I’ve got to whip up a nursery on a very tight budget, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s encountered this dilemma before.

Enter DIY projects.  I’m pretty sure do-it-yourself projects are going to be the key to accomplishing a cute nursery on a budget (read:  the only way it’s every going to happen).

If you’re in the same budget boat as me, but still dream of a lovely nursery for your little one, check out these 8 Great DIY Nursery Projects after the jump!  (Even if budget isn’t a problem for you, check it out anyway – DIY’s are fun!).

  • Yarn Wrapped Letters 1 of 8
    Yarn Wrapped Letters
I would love to make these letters to spell out our daughter's name in her nursery. It would be a cute way to inject texture and color.
  • Lace Doily Lamp 2 of 8
    Lace Doily Lamp
Light fixtures can be pretty expensive and this would be a pretty and inexpensive alternative for our little girl's nursery.
  • Growth Chart 3 of 8
    Growth Chart
I know we won't be needing this for awhile still, but this growth chart is so cute and simple, I'd kind of like to get a jump start on it anyway.
  • Chalkboard Door 4 of 8
    Chalkboard Door
Like the growth chart, our baby obviously won't have the fine motor skills to draw with chalk anytime soon, but I'd like to do this on the inside of her door to have it ready for when the time comes.
  • Stars in Jars Night Light 5 of 8
    Stars in Jars Night Light
Glow-in-the-dark paint in mason jars seems like a great eco-friendly night light option to me. I love that it looks like stars too!
  • Birds on Branches Mobile 6 of 8
    Birds on Branches Mobile
This mobile is adorable and would make a lovely addition to any nursery.
  • Bookshelves 7 of 8
These bookshelves would be great because they don't take up a lot of floor space since they're wall mounted. The pop of color is a great way to tie together a nursery's color scheme if you have one.
  • Abacus 8 of 8
This would be a great way to keep baby self-entertained while in their crib (or laying on their floor bed in our case).
