I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant: Horrifying Reenactment of Amniotic Sac Falling Out Of Woman

Surprise! You're pregnant. Well, you were. You just had the baby.

Good God. Just when I thought I’d seen everything, TLC’s I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant airs an episode about a woman who gives birth to a baby still wrapped in an amniotic sac.

I just watched the clip.  All I can think is seriously, TLC?  I’ll throw in a solid double-you-tee-eff for good measure.

As Tracie Egan Morrissey reports for, this episode wasn’t for those with weak stomachs.  The woman in question was told she had suffered a miscarriage seven months earlier.  She began having stomachaches when an entire, unruptured amniotic sac containing a baby fell out of her.  As Morrissey says, TLC nearly delights in making the recreation as traumatizing as possible  “…by God, TLC created a reenactment of the whole thing, making the incident just as traumatic for viewers as it was for the mother.”

Listen to dude’s voice over set to dramatic horror movie music:  AND SHE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT.

It always amazes me that there are actually women out there who didn’t know they were pregnant.  In fact, a few months back I wrote an article called I Don’t Get It:  How Can You Not Know You’re Pregnant?

Doctors say many women just don’t experience the usual pregnancy symptoms of nausea, cravings, swollen ankles and even weight gain. Some women gain only five to ten pounds and have no other symptoms no obvious ones, anyway and others are throwing up every day. Often, women experience plenty of pregnancy symptoms but blame something else; morning sickness becomes food poisoning or the flu, swollen ankles are because of a long day on their feet. Weight gain is blamed on job stress, the fact that they quit smoking or they simply won’t gain that much weight in the first place.

I guess. Seems bizarre though, doesn’t it? And does TLC really need to launch a baby wrapped in an amniotic sac out of a woman? Check out the video. Looks like she gave birth to an alien pod, for hellsakes.

Can you imagine that thing dropping out of your body?
