Confession: I have a bit of an obsession with baby shower planning. When I was pregnant, I walked this weird line between being incredibly excited and being in complete denial. So while I had a say in the kind of baby shower I wanted (a book-themed baby shower), I didn’t put too much effort into researching ideas and finding inspiration from the countless party planning blogs.
And now? Now I’m obsessed. Perhaps it’s because I now know that, despite the growing trend of having showers for second and third babies, it was most likely the only shot I was going to get. Of course I can channel all of that party planning energy into birthdays for my son, but there’s something so sweet and monumental about a woman’s first baby shower.
I saw this vintage-inspired, schoolhouse-theme baby shower and I have it bookmarked for my sister, who is finishing up her teaching degree in May. (She’s not pregnant, but you know, one day…) The best part? There are tons of free printables and simple ideas to make this baby shower a reality:
This baby shower was put together by Rachel of Phoenix Event Planning, and you can head there for her list of decor, menu items and music choices — including a baby shower party idea. You can also find free Gg is for Girl and Bb is for Boy printables at One Charming Party, and you can print out that adorable milk carton (for homemade cookie favors) and a “Report Card” cookie recipe at The Sweetest Occasion.
