- 6 wooden skewers
- 1 apple
- 1/2 honeydew melon
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup chocolate flakes
- 1/2 cup dried coconut
- 2 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
- 2 drops red food coloring (optional)
Quarter and core the apples, then cut each quarter into pieces about 1/3 inch square.
Peel bananas and chop each into 6 pieces.
Peel honeydew, deseed and chop into 1/3 inch square pieces.
For each skewer, thread on two pieces of each fruit.
Kids love this part; let them choose their own combination.
Pour yogurt into a shallow bowl.
Place coconut in a shallow bowl, add 2 drops of yellow and red coloring (optional) and mix well – you should end up with some yellow, orange and red flecks.
Place the chocolate shavings into a shallow bowl.
Serve the fruit skewers on a plate, let the kids choose one, dip it in the yogurt and then roll in the coconut and chocolate. Ta da, fun fruit.
- If you would prefer not to use food coloring, use plain coconut, or toast it in a pan over low heat.
