Easy Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids Pop Up Card

Add some personality to the ordinary Valentine with this pop-up card – and then look the other way when it’s addressed to that cute boy your daughter keeps talking about.

  • You will need:

  • White and red card stock
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Construction paper, any color

Fold the white card stock and the red card stock in half widthwise, so that the short sides meet.

Cut a large heart from the red card stock. Lay the red heart in front of you and fold the outside edges in to meet in the corner.

Open the folded white cards stock and match up the center line of the red heart and the white card. Glue the folded edges of the heart to the white card. Let dry.

Lift gently on the center line of the red heart while carefully closing the white card. Decorate the front of the card. Let dry.

Decorate the inside of the card with markers or crayons. Let dry. Write your message.

This recipe was excerpted from the up-coming book Paper Crafts for Valentine’s Day by Randel McGee for Babble.com, the magazine and community for a new generation of parents.
