10 Short and Sweet Ideas for a Weekday Date

During the week you may crave alone time with your spouse but know come the next day you will be sitting at your cubicle at work craving a good night’s sleep. Even so, you don’t have to wait until the weekend to go on a date. Here are 10 date ideas for when you are short on time but still want to spend time with your significant other during the week.

1. Grab A Cup Of Coffee

After dinner and an early bedtime story say goodbye to the little ones and go out for some coffee and dessert at your local coffee shop.

2. Sign Up For A Class

Sign up for a 30 minute to one-hour weekly class. Whether it is a workout, dance, college or cooking class just be sure to pick something that the two of you can both enjoy.

3. Watch TV

If you decide to have a date night in curl up and watch your favorite hour-long television drama.

4. Stop At A Drive-Thru

Have a favorite fast food place? Head through the drive thru and park and eat in your car. Just be sure to ask for extra napkins. Turn on the radio or leave it off and talk.

5. Get A Manicure Or Pedicure

If your spouse likes being pampered, unwind after a long day with a manicure and/or pedicure.

6. Go To The Car Wash

Do a little multitasking by meeting up at the car wash. Get your cars detailed and sit and talk, perhaps over candy bars and soda pops, while you wait.

7. Grab Lunch

Don’t wait until the end of the day. If you are able to, meet up for a lunch date instead.

8. Meet For Appetizers And Drinks

Stop by a restaurant during happy hour and share an appetizer before heading home for the evening.

9. Play A Game

Challenge each other to a game of checkers or head out to the arcade.

10. Plan A Picnic


Stop by the pre-made food section in your grocery store and grab a couple of things for an evening picnic.
