I wrote a post on my blog titled “25 Things Your Wife Will Love to Hear You Say.” I thought it was just a simple list post, but it has since become one of the highest viewed posts on my site! Apparently knowing what to say to your wife is something a lot of men are on the hunt for.

The purpose of my post was to encourage other men to use words to encourage their wives. According to Dr. Gary Chapman, there are five different ways to communicate which translate into love for us. One of those ways is through “words of affirmation.” My guess is men aren’t always great with words, especially when it comes to the romantic words category.

An app for that … really?

For the man who struggles in this area, a list of ideas for things to say to encourage his wife is a great benefit. Well now there is an app for that!

It’s called Romantimatic. Apparently this is something men need so much that they are willing to pay for it. This is the point where I kick myself for not thinking to have an app created.

The Romantimatic can be set to send you a notification to call or text your significant other, and it even has suggestions of things to say, much like my post. Some people have said negative things about it and the people who use it, but I actually think it’s a great idea.

Here are 3 reasons why I think this app is a great idea:

1. There’s a need for it

With the amount of traffic that visits my post, there is definitely a need for this. If a man or woman needs help with their words, then let them get help. I’d rather have my wife set a reminder to call me and say I love you than to have her never say it at all.

2. We plan everything else

We normally plan appointments, work schedules, and sometimes we plan when we’re going to eat. My friends, Tony and Alisa DiLorenzo of ONE Extraordinary Marriage, even think it’s a good idea to plan sex! If it helps a couple to not miss out, then I think it’s a good thing.

3. It’ll improve the quality of your love language.

What happens when a birthday or Valentine’s gift is planned in advance? It’s usually well thought-out and more appreciated in comparison to the last-minute stop at the store to grab flowers, chocolates, and a card on the way home. This app takes the same concept. You get to plan what you’ll say and when you’ll say it, so more thought and care can be put into it.

What are your thoughts on the Romantimatic?
