Generally it takes me a little bit to start liking a new trend. I’m a slow adopter and I have to see it done well a few times before I can really catch the vision and figure out how it fits with my aesthetic. But, occasionally, a trend comes along and I am immediately on board. Geometric jewelry and prints are that way. They speak my love language!
Triangles in particular have been hot over the past year but now I’m seeing a lot of other shapes as well- rectangles, hexagons, circles, squares. As I browsed Etsy for awesome pieces I was struck by how much geometric jewelry reminds me of the math manipulatives we used in elementary school. Those were my absolute favorite thing (I’m a visual and tactile learner, so sometimes all it took was a couple red triangles and yellow hexagons on my desk for me to grasp a concept) and maybe that’s why these pieces all appeal to me so much! They’re nostalgic, but fresh and incredibly versatile. You can easily find pieces that are crisp and simple or complex and colorful, depending on your taste!

This necklace is perfection. Minimalist, not too polished. I'd wear it with jeans, a slouchy tee and a messy braid.

It feels weird to label something silver and black as "unexpected" but here I am doing it. Geometric jewelry so often comes in gold and neon that this combo feels like a fresh take.
