  • Christmas Eve 2 of 17

I wore this for Christmas Eve two years ago. It combines several of my favorite festive elements - a red skirt, sequin top and ruffle cardigan.

Red plaid plus a sparkly necklace is one of my main go-tos for the holidays. I wore this outfit for a holiday TV segment this year, but it could work for many different occasions like a casual holiday lunch.

I love an unexpected winter white ensemble during the holidays. This particular outfit has a bit of a tuxedo vibe and you could wear it for a dinner date or sightseeing in the city.

  • Holiday Party 5 of 17

My favorite party outfit from this year. Nothing says festive like a red skirt, jeweled belt and lace top. Wear it for a holiday party or on Christmas Day.

  • New Year’s Eve 6 of 17

I rented this dress for New Year's Eve last year. Renting a dress can be a great option if you have plans that call for an extravagant dress - the only bummer is not getting to keep it at the end!

  • Ugly Christmas Sweater Party 7 of 17

The outfit on the right is purposefully over the top - perfect for an ugly Christmas sweater party! The outfit on the left could be worn to any number of holiday soirees.

I wore this four Christmases ago. Try this outfit idea with black pants for work, or jeans for a holiday dinner at home. Matching Christmas present optional!

I wore this to see The Nutcracker this year. This dress will also work well for a holiday work party or NYE.

  • Visiting Family 10 of 17

This festive ensemble is from two years ago. Pair your polka dot dress with a red blazer and tights for visiting family or on Christmas Day.

  • NYE Options 11 of 17

Two options I considered for NYE last year. Nothing says NYE like a sequin dress, and I like the pleated skirt and cinched waistband on these.

  • Holiday Soiree 12 of 17

The outfit on the left combines a textured, slightly sparkly skirt with a sequin jacket for NYE or a night on the town. The outfit on the right isn't a great fit for me (this was a trying on session), but tulle is a great festive piece for the holidays and it looks great paired with sequins.

  • Everyday Holiday 13 of 17

Red flats and red plaid are a great way to show some holiday spirit while you're out running errands or visiting friends and family.

  • Holiday Date Night 14 of 17

Light gold sequins and ivory jeans are a great way to show some holiday spirit without being too literal. Try it for a party or a romantic stroll to see holiday lights.

  • Christmas Concert 15 of 17

This easy combination can work with any colorful skirt. Try wearing one over an all-black ensemble and add a statement necklace for an easy outfit for a Christmas concert or cookie exchange.

  • Day to Night 16 of 17

Take a jeweled dress and make it work seamlessly from day (left) to night (right) with just a few small changes.

  • Christmas Dinner 17 of 17

Whatever holiday you may celebrate, you'll most likely share a meal with the ones you love. Try dressing up jeans and boots with a festive red plaid shirt, red blazer and sparkly statement necklace.
