3 Tips for Styling a Trend That Scares YouMerrick White
There are some new trends that are just scary, right? For me, it’s fur, leather, and a handful of other trends. They’re really great trends and I want to wear them and love the idea of them, but actually wearing them is downright scary.
1. Don’t Show Your Fear
This is the most important thing. If you act confident about it, no one will ever know that you’re having a freakout on the inside. Also, if you share your fears, it draws attention that will make you feel even more self conscious. Just rock that trend, and no one will be the wiser. And after a few times of faking your confidence, your real confidence will begin to grow, and before you know it the trend will be easy.
2. Wear Something Safe with It
Worried about your fur vest being too much? Try a chambray top, or a striped sweater, or a simple gray tee — something that you feel good in and that doesn’t scare you at all.
3. Cover It up
No, don’t cover all of it up … obviously that would defeat the purpose. But if you’re trying out a leather top, cover part of it up with a cardigan or blazer, or even a scarf, so only sections of it are showing. This will subdue the look and make you feel more comfortable. If you’re wearing leather pants, try a longer coat to cover up a bit of them.
Try these easy tips to help you overcome that fear and try out some of these fun trends — you won’t regret it!
