Fashion Inspired by Brazil! 14 Looks to Try This Summer

Brazil will be hosting the World Cup 2014 in a few days, so I thought it would be fitting to gather several of my favorite fashion pieces inspired by Brazil. It’s South America’s largest country, and it’s rich with culture, colors, and energy, which makes for fabulously fun fashion.

Color is everywhere in Brazil, so I had to find items that were bright and bold. The beautiful flowers, colorful birds, and exotic fruit are the perfect muse for patterns. Brazil is one of the top fruit-producing countries, so it’s no surprise that fashion with coconuts, avocado, papaya, passion fruit, and pineapple are reminiscent of this country, which is perfect because tropical patterns are everywhere right now. (Check out Brooke’s article on the pineapple trend!)

I also took inspiration from a few fashionable natives that are quintessentially Brazilian. They help shape the idea of what Brazilian style is all about. Vintage fashion icon Carmen Miranda was known for her glamour, high-waisted skirts, and of course, the fruit hat. Brazilian supermodels like Gisele Bündchen and Alessandra Ambrosio dress in body-conscious dresses and classic colors with a flavorful flair. Vogue Brazil‘s Costanza Pascolato is also a stunning Brazilian fashion role model who makes gracefully aging an art form. Her style is luxurious, with gold accents, big sunglasses, and timeless shapes.
