Stylish Lounge Wear You Could Wear in Public

I’m not really the type to endorse wearing sweatpants out and about (unless you are at the death’s door that is first trimester pregnancy, in which case I will not judge anything you wear into any public space. Carry on). but now that fall is upon us and it’s getting a bit chilly and we’re all going to start getting the various plagues that make their way around (already got our first! We’re ahead of the game!), then I can understand heading out in lounge wear. Fall does bring lots of cute wardrobe layering and boot options, but sometimes you just want to wrap yourself in something warm, loose fitting, and draw-stringed.

If you’re going to go out in lounge wear then it may as well be CUTE lounge wear, right? Or, at least, not an ancient sweatshirt you’ve had since college that is covered in paint (not that I have anything like that…). Here are some good-looking lounge wear options to keep you comfy and cozy this fall.

  • Scotch & Soda Home Alone Sweatshirt 2 of 11

The sweatshirt that inspired this post. I want to wear it EVERYWHERE. That double-layered hood! The shoulder zipper! The slim cut! It's like all my knit dreams are coming true. The other colorway is equally cool.

    Scotch & Soda, $119

  • H&M Sweatpants 3 of 11
    HM Sweatpants

Sweatpants are rarely flattering or good looking, but this pair is. The skinnier cut keeps them from getting frumpy and the two-tone keeps them interesting. I give you permission to forgo the high heels when wearing them, however.

    H&M, $34.95

  • Madewell Sweatshirt 4 of 11

Adding a dash of French automatically ups the style factor.

    Madewell, $75

  • Old Navy Hoodie 5 of 11
    Old Navy Striped Hoodie

A thin jersey hoodie is one of my favorite cold-weather staples. Wear it alone as a shirt, over a tee for extra warmth OR layer it under a jacket. It's super versatile!

    Old Navy, $19.94

  • Fitted Sweats 6 of 11
    Red Fitted Sweats

I love the wide waistband and friendly color.

    Revolve Clothing, $88

  • Nordstrom Cross Sweatshirt 7 of 11

A simple graphic sweatshirt is comfy and also on-trend for fall.

    Nordstrom, $58

  • Forever 21 Striped Hoodie 8 of 11
    Forever 21 Hoodie

I actually picked this one up for myself a couple weeks ago. I love the dropped shoulders!

    Forever 21, $22.80

  • Scotch & Soda Grandad Sweatshirt 9 of 11

According to the website, that's called a "sailor inspired granddad closure." Whatever it is, it's super cool.

    Scotch & Soda, $119

  • Soffe Sweats 10 of 11
    Soffee Capri Sweats

Soffe has been the lounge wear brand of choice for athletes for years (raise your hand if you've owned those notched Soffe shorts at some point in your life). Their sweatpants are comfy and affordable.

    Kohls, $17.99

  • Harry Potter Sweatshirt 11 of 11
    Books Sweatshirt

I just did a whole roundup of Harry Potter clothing for adults and this sweatshirt is pretty high on my Want List. I mean, if you're going to wear a sweatshirt, it might as well wear a Harry Potter one, right?

    Etsy, $36.99
