Trendy Clothes You Can Find at the Thrift Store

I love seeing clothing trends come cycling back through the fashion scene, because it means I’ll be stocking up on the seasonal trends for just a fraction of the department store prices. What’s my secret? Scouring the thrift stores! The clothes that we’re seeing in stores today are usually just new twists on clothes from years ago and sometimes it hasn’t been that long of a time period. Lately I’ve been really easily spotting specific trendy clothes at the thrift store.

If you’re like me and want to wear the latest trends but don’t like spending much money, here are a few usual suspects. I can often find at least one or two of during a thrift store trip.

  • Faux Fur Coat 1 of 5

I have a couple of nice faux fur vintage coats, and I've found both of them for about $10 at the thrift store!

This faux fur coat is available from Bloomingdales for $153.56 (Note the price difference!)

  • Pinafore Dress 2 of 5

Pinafore dresses are a '90s trend that have been updated with a shorter hemline and scooped sides. You can find a lot of jumpers like this at the thrift store, and shortening the hem to make it current is pretty easy!

This pinafore dress is available from ASOS for $46.56

Oversized sweaters are a cozy wardrobe staple for the cooler months. They look stylish with a pair of skinny jeans and pumps. Usually there are several oversized sweaters that I want to buy when I stop in at my favorite thrift stores.

This oversized sweater is available from Urban Outfitters for  $59

  • High Waist Jeans 4 of 5

The pants that were recently referred to as "mom jeans" can now be seen on trendy women all over the street style blogs! Wear them with any kind of top really, and a pair of slip-on booties for cooler weather.

These "mom jeans" are available from River Island for $90

  • Striped Turtleneck 5 of 5

Back in the early '90s, these turtlenecks were usually worn under large cardigans or long denim jumpers. Now they look great with mini skirts and bright colored tights. Or a pair of your favorite jeans! I usually find one or two striped tops like this when I scour the racks at the thrift store.

This striped turtleneck is available from Lord & Taylor for $29
