Every month, when I get my cable bill, I have to sit down for a minute. Even though we have a scaled-down plan, we pay SO MUCH for our cable TV.
We’ve toyed with the idea of dumping cable TV and just using streaming options, but I keep hitting one major stumbling block: I love HBO. I love the original programming on HBO. True Blood, the Newsroom all of them. I’m not ready to give them up, even though we watch 80% of our television via streaming.
What I’d really love, frankly, is the ability to order JUST the ten or so channels we actually watch in this house and nothing else. That would be perfect. I’d also gladly pay for the episodes of the shows I like best, such as Mad Men, without actually subscribing to cable. That would rock; after all, buying a whole series by episode is STILL less expensive than cable.
