4 in the Fall: Our Seasonal Family PhotosLauren Jimeson
Every year, just as the leaves start to change from green to those gorgeous shades of red, orange, and yellow, our family takes a trip to the park for a fall family photoshoot. It’s one of our favorite seasons here in NYC and it doesn’t hurt that the city is absolutely stunning this time of year.
This photoshoot was a bit more special for our family because it is most likely our last formal photo session before we welcome our first little boy into our family in February. I wanted to make sure that it captured all of the special moments that my husband and I have with our little girls and I also wanted to show off my little baby boy bump as a keepsake to look back on.
Thankfully, my friend Lindsey is a very talented photographer and was able to get the perfect shots of our soon-to-be family of five. These photos couldn’t have been more telling of the love we have for one another and of our little family in the city.
Family of Four, Soon to be Five! 1 of 11
This will likely be our last formal photo as a family of four. It's so crazy for me to think about, yet so exciting at the same time. Next year at this time, the girls will have a little brother to hold in our family photo.
Me and My Girls 2 of 11
Believe it or not, I don't have a lot of photos with just me and the girls. I feel like I am behind the camera taking pictures of them. I love that this photo captures smiling faces and a gorgeous landscape.
Daddy’s Girl 3 of 11
Avery is a really big daddy's girl. She probably asks for her daddy at least 10 times throughout the day. Her face lights up as soon as he gets home from work. This is such a special picture of the two of them. Avery didn't want to be put down onto the grass and daddy worked his magic to get her happy and running around, as only daddy can do.
Cheese Face 4 of 11
If you ask Avery to say "cheese" and smile for the camera, this is the face she makes. I love it so much because this was the exact face Harlan used to make when we asked her the same thing.
Playing with Fall 5 of 11
One of our favorite things about all in New York City is the leaves changing color and falling. I think both girls could have spent hours just playing with the leaves on the ground. They were so interested in every single one.
Hugs 6 of 11
Harlan was trying to cheer Avery up for the photos. And a great big bear hug was the best way she knew to do it. It worked like a charm.
Kisses 7 of 11
This was totally done voluntarily on Harlan's part. It just shows how much she really loves her sister.
City Life 8 of 11
Lindsay captured this photo on our walk home after leaving the park. It's probably one of my favorites because it completely captures our life in the city. On most weekends, you will catch the four of us walking down the streets just like this. I love our life here and the family that embraces all of what this city is about.
Jump! 9 of 11
Avery has just learned how to jump off the ground with both feet. she now wants to do it all the time. Not surprisingly, her sister does too. Here they both got ready to jump up high in the air for all to see.
Happy to Run 10 of 11
Avery is still not a huge fan of the grass, but after a little magic from daddy, that's all she wanted to do. She was so happy to just have some space and run around whereever she wanted to go.
Mommy and A 11 of 11
This is one of my favorites of me and Avery. Such a candid and special moment between the two of us.
