Does Your Preschooler Love Jake and the Never Land Pirates? Check out this Brand New App

Toddler parents, I have a serious question: What did we ever do before apps came along? How did we survive waiting rooms? And road trips? Forget about it.

Somehow I managed with my oldest child but friends, it was a dark, dark time.

I had the chance recently to check out a new app from Disney Junior, and I jumped at the chance since it featured one of my kids’ favorite shows, Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Check it out!

Players select one of four “pirate classes” to begin the game. Your child can learn how to steer a pirate ship through an obstacle course,  rock out a swashbuckling tune in Pirate Band class, learn to use a map and spyglass, or fly through the forest with what else? Pixie dust.

The games are designed with preschoolers in mind so they’re easy enough for even the littlest members of the pirate crew.

My kids loved it! I have to say, this game kept my 3 and 5 year olds busy for part of a 3 hour road trip yesterday. And unlike a lot of apps, the music and voices featured in Jake’s Pirate School were not distracting or annoying to the adults in the car.

Best of all? Jake’s Pirate School is a free app from Disney Junior. Download yours here!  If your kiddos are fans of Mickey Mouse, you can also download the Mickey Mouse Club House Road Rally app for your iPad (it’s also free!).

Another thing: Disney Junior Disney Junior WATCH makes full length episodes of its popular shows available free online at www.watchdisneyjunior.com and via the Disney Junior WATCH app on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Comcast Xfinity subscribers have access to premiere content, including a live feed of the network online and through the app.  After the live feed, current shows will be available “on demand”. Perfect if you’re in the middle of a show and need to run out to do errands.  No complaints from the kids that they’ll miss the end of their show. Or perhaps there are several kids in a family who like different programs.  One can watch on the TV, while the other watches on their favorite device. Missed their favorite show?  They’ll have up to 10 days to catch up on WATCH! Fans who aren’t on Comcast can contact their cable provider to ask for the service via the website or the app.

Join us August 8th at 9 PM EST for a Disney Junior Twitter party! You could win an iPad. RSVP at http://bit.ly/QsXDE2 and use the hashtags #spon and #mackidtips
