What's More Fun Than a Toddler with a Spoon?

OK, I can think of a few things that are a little more fun all of which are not quite as messy but still… How cute is that picture?

Little Bean ATTACKED the spoon this morning! I’ve given him food on a fork before but honestly, I’ve been avoiding the spoon. Meal times are mess inducing enough already. Just look at this. Seriously. I sweep 3 times a day!

But alas, he’ll never learn if I don’t give him a chance. I decided today was the day. I whipped up a batch of The Most Amazing Bowl of Oatmeal EVER (It REALLY is, you have to go check it out) for myself and put a little on the side for Little Bean.

He LOVED it and didn’t do half bad with the spoon either. Here’s a few photos from our breakfast adventure…

  • MMMmmm 1 of 10
    This is pretty good!
  • But… 2 of 10
I still like to use my hands.
  • Hmmm 3 of 10
    What's this end for?
  • So Wait a Minute… 4 of 10
    So Wait a Minute…
The food goes in the bowl and you dig it out with the spoon?
  • But.. But… 5 of 10
    But.. But…
I have a perfectly good hand to do that!
  • Ummmm Mom, 6 of 10
    Ummmm Mom,
I think this spoon may be *slightly* too big.
  • See… 7 of 10
It pushes my nose up when I try to use it.
  • I got it! 8 of 10
    I got it!
    I'll try it upside down!
  • Naaaa 9 of 10
I'll just open my mouth bigger.
  • Really Mom? 10 of 10
    Really Mom?
    Does it warrant 100 pictures?

Note: This was not only his this is first time with a spoon but first time with a bit of Peanut Butter. So far so good. No reaction!
