10 Reasons To Sail On The Carnival Breeze Cruise Ship

Disclosure: My family and I sailed during a press preview on the Carnival Breeze and our expenses were taken care of by Carnival Cruise Lines. All thoughts and opinions about the line and our cruise are mine alone.

Last December my family and I took an 8-day cruise on Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Carnival Breeze. I’ll admit I was skeptical. There has been quite a bit of not so flattering press about the cruise line’s older ships over the past few months, but I was open. Open to the promising new decor scheme, the Fun Ship 2.0 looked super cool and the itineraries looked amazing. Needless to say it was an incredible cruise. We sailed on an Eastern Caribbean itinerary and visited 5 different ports (Tortola, Antigua, Nassau and St. Thomas) that rocked our socks off, the pizza on-board was fabulous (yes I had to include the pizza) and my husband, our children and I had an amazing time.

Would we sail again? You better believe it! You can view our full in-depth review and watch video featuring the dining and accommodations as well as the multitude of activities and fabulous ports visited. If Carnival is a line you are considering or have considered for your family, I definitely recommend their newest ship, The Breeze.

Here are 10 reasons why I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

  • Fun & Funky Atrium 2 of 11
Multi-colored lanterns are suspended from the ceiling in such a way that it appears as though they are floating. It looks spectacular during the day and at night, which makes the Atrium even more of a pleasant place to sit down, relax, read a book or enjoy some refreshments.
  • Eye Pleasing Decor 3 of 11
Every room on the Carnival Breeze is decorated in a calming palette of sand, beige, yellow and blue. It wasn't loud or overly stimulating which made our suite even more relaxing.
  • Kids Club 4 of 11
Camp Carnival offers a summer camp like experience on-board. The activites are split into three different age groups ranging from 2-11 years. Parents are provided with a special phone during the duration of their cruise in case their kids need to get ahold of them. Lunch is served at Camp Carnival, but you are always welcome to pick them up. My girls spent one of the sea days here and enjoyed making crafts with the counsellors.
  • WaterWorks 5 of 11
In addition to the two pools abord the Carnival Breeze, twists, turns and plenty of water fun can be found on the ship's waterpark. WaterWorks offers super fast slides for the more adventerous crowd and mini slides for the little ones. There are lots of sprayers, pop up water geysers and a big bucket that fills up slowly and soaks whoever happens to be under it at the time.
  • Dive-In Movies 6 of 11
There is nothing quite like watching a movie on a big screen while sailing across the ocean at night. To top it off, freshly popped popcorn and blankets are provided during the show. Definitely one of my favorite things about this cruise!
  • Specialty Restaurants 7 of 11
The food on the Carnival Breeze was excellent and we had absolutely no complaints, however the specialty restaurants blew my mind. Cucina del Capitano and Fahrenheit 555 were highlights for us. The food was incredible and rivalled some of the best I've tasted. All food onboard was included, however there was a small charge for the specialty restaurants. One hundred percent worth it!
  • Rocking Nightlife 8 of 11
Mama got down on the dance floor during an evening on the ship's nightclub. They played a great mix of oldies and current dance hits, which made this appealing to adults of all ages.
  • SportSquare 9 of 11
The list of things to do onboard is really never ending. Take the SportSquare for example. My girls adored the mini golf course, but there are a whole slew of other activities you can do on deck. Basketball court, soccer, volleyball, ping-pong, pool, foosball, exercise bikes, punching bags, video games and, my favorite - the SkyCourse. You can walk across this ropes course while overlooking the ocean. An exciting experience with an amazing view.
  • Amazing Itineraries 10 of 11
Everything about the 8 day Eastern Caribbean itinerary was perfect. We were able to discover 4 islands (St. Thomas, Tortola, Antigua and Nassau) and enjoyed 4 days at sea. With 3 little ones, those days were welcome and gave us time to rest and really enjoy the ship in between our adventures.
  • Overall An Amazing Time Had By All 11 of 11
The entire family enjoyed our vacation on the Carnival Breeze. In fact, out of over a dozen trips in 2013, it was our favorite.
